Thunderbird Club
This year the Ford Thunderbird is celebrating its 70th Anniversary year. The Water Wonderland Thunderbird Club, celebrating its 44th year is proud to be a part of the celebration.
Our club was established in 1981 as a not-for-profit Michigan organization. We have grown to be the largest Thunderbird Club in Michigan with over 120 members. We are dedicated to the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of all Thunderbird automobiles. Our members are from all walks of life sharing one common interest: the love of Thunderbirds. We provide and share technical advice to our members, encourage participation in community events where our cars can be on display and shared with others, and provide our members with an opportunity to join other like minded individuals in sharing their Thunderbird stories and adventures. We are especially proud of the fact that our club sponsors an annual automotive arts scholarship for $1000.00 to a graduating student pursuing a career in auto mechanics. Our scholarship is given in cooperation with the Wayne Westland Community School District. Through our fund raising we are able to offer our scholarship, and we are working to be able to offer a second scholarship with a neighboring school district.
